We run a quiz league because we love trivia and community. To make that happen, we need to collect a tiny bit of your data. This policy explains what we take, why we take it, and how we guard it—in plain English.

• Your Email Address: This is the big one. We need it to:
  • Create and identify your unique team in our league system.
  • Send you your Team ID when you first register (so you don't forget it!).
  • Contact you if and only if your team wins a prize.
  • Help you recover your Team ID if you forget it.
  These are the only times a human will ever look at your email address.
• Your Team Name: For the leaderboard. Make it clever, make it punny, but maybe keep it family-friendly.
• Your Quiz Scores: Obviously. It's a league. We track your weekly points and bonus points to calculate your standings.
• Anonymous Website Analytics: We use our own in-house analytics to understand how people use our site. This collects completely anonymous data about page visits, clicks, and general usage patterns. Nothing that can identify you personally. No cookies, no tracking of individuals.

That's genuinely it. We don't need or want your address, phone number, or inside leg measurement (though pictures of your cat are always welcome).

We treat your data like it's the answer to the rollover jackpot question.

• Encryption: Your email address is stored using strong encryption. To our system, it's a scrambled code, not plain text.
• Access: Access to the backend data is severely restricted. As stated above, your email is only decrypted and viewed if we need to contact you about a prize.
• No Selling, Ever: We will never, ever sell, rent, or trade your personal data. The very thought makes us shudder.

We'll keep your team's data (email, name, scores) for as long as you keep coming to the quiz. If you stop coming, our system will automatically remove your email from our system (after a few months of not seeing you), your team names and previous scores will however remain for eternity (or at least as long as the league exists/until we get fired) on the historical leaderboards.

You're in control of your personal data. You have the right to:

• Ask what we know about you. (Spoiler: not much).
• Ask us to forget your email. We'll scrub it from our system. Important: Your team's name and score history live forever on the leaderboards—that's trivia immortality for you!
• Update your details if you change your email or want to rename your team for the next campaign.

We keep things simple and self-contained. Our website runs on our own server through a hosting provider (as every website must). While the hosting company has can see the traffic to and from our server, they do not have access to any of our systems. Your email and scores stay within our system.

We deliberately avoid external services like CDNs, ad networks, or third-party analytics to minimize who ever sees even a glimpse of your data.
